The Winner is:

The Seeds of Doom

Not as many people voted this time. It may be down with not giving enough time or it’s becoming boring. Please stick with it, it’s fun. This is one of 5 Tom Baker stories I assumed would be picked. There was only one vote for Genesis of the Daleks which was a surprise to me.

Why I am happy The Seeds of Doom was chosen: It’s two stories for the price of one. In some cases it really doesn’t do the Tom Baker years justice as it has a certain feel of The Avengers to it yet the chemistry between the Doctor and Sarah Jane is at its best. We see the return of an Axon painted green plus John Inman playing Harrison Chase. What more is there to like? What? That isn’t John Inman?

The story I would have picked: I would have picked City of Death. I think Tom Baker looks his best and paired with Douglas Adams they are unstoppable. Plus with John Inman playing Count Scarlioni, it adds a certain sinister campiness to it. Wait? That isn’t John Inman either?

Inferno

It sounds like Doctor Who fans love the parallel universe aspect. Some loved idea of two Brigadiers and even more loved the idea of two Liz Shaws! I don’t think we could ever go wrong with any story from Season 7.

One thing that is interesting is that each story from Season 9 got a vote.

Why I am happy Inferno was chosen: Most of Season 7 is a vast departure from what came before in Doctor Who. It is among the cast’s favourite. I also love the new restoration of the story. Looking forward to this!

The story I would have picked: I would have picked Doctor Who and the Silurians. I love the story, the location, the music and well….The Silurians. Any Season 7 story is good.

I am also going to watch The Three Doctors as I plan to watch all stories with multiple Doctors in this marathon too!

The Enemy of the World

If this story was never recovered and has been re-evaluated, no one would have ever thought that this story would have been on anyone’s list. A couple of people have pointed out this is their new favourite story.

Why I am happy The Enemy of the World was chosen: This story is nothing like I expected. It is a Bond film on a Doctor Who budget and it stacks up marvelously. It is so different than I expected it to be. Plus, I can watch The Enemy of the World in its entirety.

The story I would have picked: The Web of Fear. The reason I would have chosen it is very simple. Because I can choose it. Bar Episode 3, it exists and that is reason enough.
